Bob Smith Named President of the Westfield Washington Advisory Planning Commission

Smith & Wade senior partner, Bob Smith, has been elected President for the Westfield Washington Planning Commission for Westfield. IN.

The Plan Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council in zoning matters.  However, they make final decisions in matters of reviewing and approving site development plans. 

Plan Commission meetings offer a public forum for community input.  It is the job of the Plan Commission to facilitate this process which is now overseen by Mr. Smith.

Kelsey joins Smith & Wade

Lesley A. Kelsey has joined the law firm of Smith & Wade. Her legal practice is focused on Insurance Defense Litigation, Coverage Litigation, and General Civil Litigation. Ms. Kelsey was born Fort Wayne, Indiana. She completed her undergraduate degree at Indiana University and obtained a B.S. in Marketing in 2003.

Ms. Kelsey graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Marketing in 2003 and completed her legal education at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 2006. Ms. Kelsey is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, and American Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana and all Indiana State Courts.

As a native Hoosier born in Fort Wayne, Lesley enjoys Indiana Basketball. Likewise, her interests include running, pilates, hiking, softball, and traveling in her spare time.

Two New Law Clerks Join Smith & Wade

Smith & Wade, LLC, has hired 2 new law clerks to work at the firm.

Meghan Cox is a second-year law student at Indiana University School of Law-- Indianapolis.  She split her time growing up between Indiana and Virginia, and graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA with a B.A. in Government in 2006.  She is a certified EMT in both Indiana and Virginia.

Meghan has completed a judicial internship in federal district court and a legal internship with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.  Meghan will be interning with the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps at Langley Air Force Base this coming summer.

Steven A. Elmer was born in Evansville, Indiana.  Mr. Elmer completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University and obtained a B.S. in Secondary Education in 2006.  He is in the process of completing his legal education at Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis and he will graduate in 2009.  Mr. Elmer previously worked at a Law Firm in Buffalo, NY where he was a certified mediator.
